ILOILO City – In Barangay Sinikway, Lapuz district, a trisikad driver claimed that a fellow driver kicked and punched him yesterday.
Ronald Benedicto, 37, told the La Paz police he failed to give Greg Panes, 32, money to buy a cigarette so the latter attacked him.
Panes first kicked Benedicto on the hips before punching him on the right arm at around 10 a.m., and these caused the latter bruises, a police report stated.
In retaliation, Benedicto picked up a Red Horse beer bottle and struck Panes on the nape.
The latter ran away when Benedicto’s niece was about to intervene.
Benedicto was not filing a charge against Panes and sought reconciliation after the latter’s mother spoke with him, police said./PN
