ILOILO City – A truck hit and run over a laborer from Barangay Ponong Grande, Dueñas, Iloilo, a police report showed.
Rommel Palencia, 23, was trying to cross the highway when the accident happened at around 8:10 p.m. on Thursday, police said.
The Isuzu forward truck was heading to Kalibo, Aklan from this city at the time.
Edmundo Cuevas, 53, of Barangay Vista Alegre, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental was driving it while two helpers were on board.
Dr. Rodney Labis, rural health unit physician of Dueñas, pronounced Palencia dead. The remains were taken to a funeral home in Passi City.
Cuevas turned himself in to the Passi City police station where Dueñas police station officers picked him up./PN
