ILOILO – Senior Superintendent Harold Tuzon considered the endorsement he got from the provincial government as a challenge to do better as director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
“Because of this trust and confidence, we will work hard and improve our operation, most especially in ensuring public safety in Iloilo province,” said Tuzon.
Tuzon is currently heading the IPPO as acting director. He bagged the endorsement of Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. to become a full-fledged director.
“This is a challenge. Dadalhin natin ‘yung IPPO sa mas mataas na antas nang pag-deliver ng public safey and security,” said Tuzon.
Chief Superintendent Jose Gentiles, regional police director, received the endorsement from the provincial capitol hailing Tuzon’s exemplary performance since starting his stint at the IPPO last October 2016.
“He effectively implemented the anti-illegal drugs campaign in line with the thrust of President Rodrigo Duterte to rid the country of the drug menace,” read part of the endorsement.
Tuzon was also cited for IPPO’s anti-illegal gambling campaign, anti-truck overloading and the formation of the Road Safety Task Force.
Prior to his IPPO assignment, Tuzon was the operations chief of the Police Regional Office 6. He swapped posts with Senior Superintendent Roderick Augustus Alba.
During the turnover of command last year, Tuzon vowed to give equal attention to the campaign against illegal gambling, insurgency and other illegal activities.
He also promised to continue the programs and projects of Alba in the IPPO and review the performance of police chiefs across the province, most especially in the drive against drug trafficking./PN
