BACOLOD City –  Two policemen were wounded after two men they served an arrest warrant with fired at them in Barangay Panalaan, Bais City, Negros Oriental, a police report showed.

Brothers Joy and Marlon Sabaricos shot police officers 1 Relebert Beronio, 35, and Joseph Afable, 31, around 3 p.m. on Thursday, the report further stated.

Beronio sustained gunshot wounds on the left arm, right palm and chest while Afable, on the left shoulder. They were rushed to the Bais City District Hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Dumaguete City for further treatment.

The Sabaricos fled after the shooting. They have a pending arrest warrant for homicide, police said.

A frustrated murder case will also be filed against the Sabaricos, the police added.
