Two high-value targets fall in Balasan

ILOILO – The Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Balasan Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested two high-value drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Balanti-an, Balasan town.

Police said alias “Leo,” 39, and alias “Ryan,” 24, both residents of Barangay Nalumsan, Carles tow, yielded P408,000 worth of suspected shabu around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8.

Also recovered from the suspect were homemade break-type 12-gauge firearm and non-drug-related items.

The suspects are now detained at the custodial facility of Balasan MPS.

They are facing charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act.)

Following the operation, Colonel Bayani Razalan, chief of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, reiterated his directive to law enforcement officers across the province to sustain the intensified campaign against all forms of criminality, with a particular emphasis on combating the proliferation of illegal drugs./PN
