ROXAS City – Two motorcycle drivers were injured in a head-on collision along the highway in Sitio Tambak, Barangay Dinginan, Roxas City at around 9:23 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4.
Police identified the driver of a Honda motorcycle as alias “John,” 26, who was traveling with a passenger identified as alias “Ian,” 24, both residents of the said barangay.
The driver of the opposing motorcycle was identified as alias “Ken,” 22, a resident of Barangay San Jose, Roxas City.
According to an initial report from the Roxas Component City Police Station, both motorcycles were traveling along their respective lanes when the unit driven by John suddenly collided head-on with the oncoming motorcycle driven by Ken.
The strong impact caused both drivers to sustain multiple body injuries. Ian, meanwhile, suffered minor injuries. Responders immediately rushed all individuals to separate hospitals in the city for treatment.
Police noted that both drivers were allegedly under the influence of liquor at the time of the incident.
The involved motorcycles are currently under the custody of the Roxas Component City Police Station for proper disposition, while both drivers remain hospitalized./PN
