BACOLOD City – Unlicensed firearms were seized from a resident of Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Harly Calida, 34, of Barangay Pandanon, Murcia was arrested in Barangay Santa Rosa, also in the town.
A loaded KG-9 pistol (serial number 148602), a loaded improvised 12-gauge shotgun locally known as sulpak and a loaded magazine for a .9mm pistol were seized from Calida around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, said Senior Inspector Ronaldo Santillan, Murcia police head.
Police also confiscated his red and white Honda XR-150 motorcycle.
Santillan said they headed to Barangay Santa Rosa after receiving a report from locals that Calida was brandishing his KG-9.
Calida was detained at the Murcia police station and charged with violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The suspect also had pending warrants of arrest for two murder charges filed in Bago and Kabankalan cities, police said./PN
