USA in partnership with SHIMADZU signed a Memorandum of Understanding

The University of San Agustin (USA) in partnership with SHIMADZU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), on Friday, November 5, 2021, through a virtual meeting.

Opening remarks is SHIMADZU Philippines Corporation president, Mr. Angelito A. Coo.

“This MOU shows how much we value and support our clients in times of crisis. We at SHIMADZU believe and promotes our business for better technical support,” Coo said.

“SHIMADZU is willing to commit itself assisting the University of San Agustin in their sample analysis and render other technical support being necessary as requested by research group by Doc. Doralyn and Dr. Jonel, as long as it is within SHIMADZU capability. Let be this MOU be a symbol of our bond in finding of common goal on helping find solutions through science and technologies, the persisting problem that which disturb the harmony of human life in global scale due to global issues,” Coo explained.

“We look forward to the success of this noble undertaking of this university and we anticipate a fruitful cooperation and partnership as we continue to foster the life philosophy of our mother company from Japan in providing solutions or science for the last 146 years,” he added.   

SHIMADZU is a technology company that assists in opening a new future and conducting business in four segments to contribute to the realization of a more convenient, safe, and secure society with innovations in science and technology.

In response Fr. Frederick C. Comendador, president of the University of San Agustin said, “The University of San Agustin is greatly honored as we here in the virtual signing of MOU between the University of San Agustin and its highly esteemed and reputable partners in the field of scientific instrumentations SHIMADZU Asia Pacific Pte.”

This collaborative initiative is dubbed as “Strategic Partnership SHIMADZU, University of San Agustin Natural Product Discovery Collaboration”.

The USA aims to have an advanced research laboratory and hopes to generate more research publications with a long-term goal of discovering new drugs to combat diseases that may cause a major threat to humanity. With the assistance of SHIMADZU in providing necessary equipment and instrumentations, the university will be able to pursue its aspirations and a bigger hope to achieve its desire in creating this research and medicines.
