BACOLOD City – Aiming to add depth to its frontline rotation, University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers of the UAAP is setting its sights on securing the commitment of Bacolodnon Daniel Coo.

A source told Panay News last night that representatives from the Tigers are currently in deep talks with the camp of the 6-foot-5 Coo, who currently plays for Ateneo de Manila Blue Eaglets.

“There are talks between the two camps and so far it has been positive,” a source said on condition of anonymity. “Daniel will be a great fit for the to the ‘Mayhem’ system of UST coach Aldin Ayo.”

If a commitment from Coo is secured, the Bacolodnon wingman will be a great addition to the Tigers, which have been playing undersized for the past few seasons in the UAAP men’s basketball.

Prior to being recruited by the Blue Eaglets, Coo have previously played for the St. John’s Institute Falcons in here and was named before as part of the Jr. NBA All-Stars team.

A few days ago, the Growling Tigers have also secured the commitment STI-West Negros University Mustang standout Aldave Canoy, who will be good to go for the Tigers in UAAP Season 84.

Meanwhile, a separate source told Panay News that UST is set to formalize the commitment of another national juniors basketball team standout and is also currently in talks with a veteran PBA player to serve as its big man coach./PN
