ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has downgraded its status to Blue Alert after confirming that the city sustained minimal damage from Super Typhoon “Uwan” (Fung-Wong), with no reported flooding, fallen trees, or collapsed power lines as of 2 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Based on Situational Report No. 4, the city recorded 676 affected families or 2,117 individuals, most of whom were preemptively evacuated before the typhoon’s peak. Of these, 508 families (1,540 individuals) remained inside evacuation centers, which continue to operate in 23 barangays. Another 427 evacuation sites are on standby should the need for additional shelter arise.
Despite the scale of preparedness, the EOC reported zero flooded barangays, no uprooted trees, and no fallen utility poles across the city — signs that preventive measures and early coordination between disaster units effectively reduced storm-related hazards.
Damage to housing was also limited, with only 10 homes affected, seven of them totally damaged and three partially. The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has so far distributed 34 food packs to affected families.
The Blue Alert status means all disaster response clusters remain active but with the situation under control. Response teams continue to monitor coastal and low-lying areas for possible runoff effects from upstream municipalities even as weather conditions improve.
The Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) assured residents that relief and recovery operations are ongoing and that continued vigilance is encouraged until Typhoon Uwan fully exits the Philippine area of responsibility./PN
