ILOILO City – A tricycle and a motorcycle crashed against each other in Barangay Villa Pani-an, Estancia, Iloilo, killing three persons.
The casualties in Saturday’s vehicular crash were identified as 32-year-old Rustom Arostique of Barangay Canapian, Maayon, Capiz, 28-year-old Alvin dela Cruz of Barangay Hamod, Batad, Iloilo, and 56-year-old Marilyn Duran of Barangay Marita, President Roxas, Capiz, a police report showed.
They were all declared “dead on arrival” at the Jesus Colmenares District Hospital in Balasan, Iloilo.
Duran’s 60-year-old husband Danilo was injured and now confined at a hospital in Roxas City.
Police Officer 2 Dan Gerald Tallanic of the Estancia police station said the crash happened around 1 a.m. on Feb. 2.
The Duran couple was on their way home on board the tricycle when they collided with the speeding motorcycle driven by dela Cruz.
Arostique was driving the tricycle.
“The victims were thrown out to the cemented roads that caused their deaths. Based in our investigation, dela Cruz was driving the motorcycle very fast and he was drunk,” said Tallanic./PN
