Vice Ganda alludes to Bea-Julia feud on ‘It’s Showtime’

Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro were left speechless as their co-host Vice Ganda casually alluded to the controversy involving Bea Alonzo during a live episode of “It’s Showtime” on Wednesday.

In its “BidaMan” segment, the seasoned comedian encouraged viewers to focus on the show as it holds its week-long grand finals for now, instead of waiting for Bea’s response to Julia Barretto’s controversial statement the previous day.

“Tigil muna ang abang-abang sa reply ni Bea. Dito muna tayo. Hindi ‘yung buong gabi, nag-aabang kayo ng reply na ang daming napuyat,” he said, in jest.

On Tuesday, Julia broke her silence on Instagram amid rumors tagging her as the “third party” in Bea’s breakup with Gerald Anderson.

There, she accused the Eerie actress Bea Alonzo of being “sly” and “encouraging a culture of hate” by deliberately liking Instagram posts suggesting an affair between her and Gerald.

Meanwhile, a particular line from Julia’s statement, which went, “You can play the victim all you want, but I refuse to be your victim,” was echoed by Vice in his impromptu exchange with a “BidaMan” finalist about ending a relationship.

“Lagi kang ganyan, pa-victim ka,” the “It’s Showtime” mainstay said. “I don’t care if you choose to be the victim, but I will never be your victim.”

Later, he mentioned once more the celebrities involved in the issue as he and his co-hosts announced that the official hashtag in that day’s episode ranked among the top trending topics on Twitter Philippines.

“Tayo na ang trending! Kasi kagabi, ‘Bea,’ ‘Julia,’ ‘Gerald’ iyon ang mga trending. So naiba na. Pasensya na muna, ha. Kami raw muna ang trending,” he said.

Prior to this, Vice has made similar references to the controversy by repeatedly using the term “ghosting” in light of Bea’s statement saying Gerald did not accord her a formal breakup.

On Tuesday, he brought up Gerald’s name as he grilled a contestant who had left his fiancée without bidding her goodbye. Vice said, “Kaya namin ginagawa ‘to, we are preparing you actually. Imagine mo, si Gerald at si Bea, in-ininterview si Gerald, ta’s ganyan sumagot, sa palagay mo may manonood pa ng pelikula ni Gerald?”

The episode came a day after Gerald finally aired his side in the controversy surrounding his breakup with Bea, in which he cleared his Between Maybes leading lady as a factor in their separation. (Push)
