BACOLOD City – In Barangay Calampisawan, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, a village councilman survived an attempt on his life.
He was 44-year-old Adonis Gabutero, who only sustained bruises on the body, a police report showed.
The suspect was identified as 48-year-old Archelito Dumip-ig, a neighbor.
Police investigators said Gabutero – resident of Barangay Ilaya, Calatrava – was riding on a motorcycle when Dumip-ig shot him around 7:50 a.m. on Aug. 5.
It was not immediately established what the motive was.
Recovered from the crime scene were six empty cartridges of a .45-caliber gun.
Police conducted a manhunt operation against Dumip-ig, who fled after the incident./PN
