ROXAS City – About 200 villagers attended the Kumpulan sa Barangay ni Presidente at the covered court in Barangay Milibili.
The activity was organized by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) to “bring the people closer to the government.”
Held on Aug. 25, the half-day event allowed villagers to take to free skills trainings from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. and the Roxas City police station.
A public consultation was also conducted with the resource speakers of the event.
“We didn’t know the updates on programs and services of these agencies if not for this activity,” said Milibili village chief Midelo Ocampo.
Provincial Information Center manager Jemin Guillermo said the activity was part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ campaign on information, education and communication. (PIA/PN)
