ILOILO City – Danemar Derla was accused of sexually assaulting a minor.
Charged with rape by sexual assault, the 38-year-old resident of Barangay Lacturan, Dumangas, Iloilo was listed the as No. 2 most wanted person in the municipal police station.
Derla was arrested in Barangay Matagbac, Tabaco City, Albay – more than 500 kilometers away – a police report showed.
Officers served him a warrant of arrest at around 9:15 a.m. on Friday last week.
Detained at the Tabaco City police station, he was set to be transferred to Dumangas this week.
Judge Vicente Go of the Regional Trial Court Branch 68 issued the warrant for the charge in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
The court set the bail bond at P200,000./PN
