WE’RE all dreaming of a white Christmas, but when snow is scarce – especially here in tropical Philippines – there’s still room for pretty paper snowflakes, intricate doilies, and other wintry white decorating ideas.
Hanging paper snowflakes
Place these around the house to add shimmery snow effects anywhere in your house! Make them out of paper and — for extra sparkle – glitter. Hang flakes on loops of thread or monofilament; attach to the ceiling with white paper tape.
Snow globes
Create beautiful snow globes using ordinary jars, and any medium to large-sized jar will work for this project. Figurines set up a holiday scene inside of the jar and glitter (lightly weighted down with glycerin so the glitter doesn’t fall too quickly) provides the shimmery snow inside the snow globe.
Doily window decals
Take white fabric doilies and use fabric stiffener to help them keep their shape. Then secure them on the window for a beautiful vintage snowfall from inside the house!
Glittered snowflake garland
Make paper snowflakes and make them sparkle with glitter. String them together to create a garland and festoon around the house for an indoor white Christmas.
Snowflake lights
All you have to do to place twinkling snowflakes throughout the house is to slide a paper bouquet holder over each bulb of your string lights and find an ideal spot to display them, such as a window or inside of a doorway. (marthastewart.com)
