ILOILO City – The launching of of the “Weekend Tienda sa Iloilo” organized by the Regional Development Council (RDC) to enhance market opportunities for local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) has been moved from Nov. 26 to Dec. 10.
National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) 6 regional director Ro-Ann A. Bacal, who also serves as the chair of the management board spearheading the project, said the cause of the delay is to give ample time to home-grown and start-up entrepreneurs to participate and expose their products at the daytime market.
The weekend tienda will serve as an avenue for MSMEs to showcase their homegrown food products, handcrafted gift items, artworks of local artists, and organic and certified natural farm fresh poultry, vegetables, fruits, fisheries and aquaculture products from the various municipalities of Iloilo.
The RDC-6 tienda management board is working out the preparations for the weekend market for the economic sector which has been recognized to be contributing significantly to the region’s economy.
The tienda is a street market or bazaar that opens only during daytime on. (With a report from PIA)/PN
