ILOILO City – The Department of Agriculture (DA) continues the campaign on RICEponsible, a nationwide advocacy that aims to promote responsible rice consumption through the non-wastage of rice, and continues to give more tips for consumers and farmers.
According to James Earl Ogatis, DA-6 information officer, the agency continues to share to the public the benefits of brown rice and revealed that November is the rice awareness month, encouraging everyone to support the campaign.
“As a consumer, one should eat brown rice as well and mix it with other staples,” Ogatis said.
“If you are a farmer, plant rice and adopt recommended technologies that would help you increase your farm yield and income,” he added.
The DA addressed the policymakers to institutionalize the availability and default serving of half cup of rice to prevent wastage and give consumers more options. It also continues the promotion of the BROWN4good Challenge./PN
