ILOILO City – A woman from San Miguel, Iloilo reported to the police in Molo that she may have lost P10,000 during a transaction at an automated teller machine (ATM) in the district.

Maria Elena Fuentes, 50, claimed that the amount has been deducted from her BDO account as a withdrawal even though the ATM along M.H. del Pilar Street, Barangay San Pedro, Molo failed to dispense the cash.

Fuentes, a resident of Salazar Street, Barangay 9, San Miguel, said another ATM client – 25-year-old Mark Servano Piñol of Zone 2, Barangay San Juan, Molo – could corroborate her claim.

According to Fuentes, she withdrew P10,000 from her P40,297.84 current balance at the Molo ATM at around 8:30 p.m. on March 17, a police report showed.

She entered into another withdrawal transaction at the same ATM but this time the machine was “unable to dispense,” as shown in her receipt.

Fuentes then checked her balance at the same ATM and was surprised to find that there was only P20,297.84 remaining in her account.

Fuentes had this incident recorded at the Molo police station. The police report did not indicate whether or not she has reported this to the bank concerned./PN
