ILOILO – Two persons were likely behind the killing of a 15-year-old student found dead yesterday in Barangay Pulo Maestra Vita, Oton town, according to the Oton police station.
Residents spotted the body of Raymundo Flores III around 6 a.m.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Ma. Elena Dolinguez, Oton police investigator, the victim had multiple stab wounds: two on the neck, two on the chest and another on the right arm.
Police coordinated with the victim’s family to know his background.
According to Dolinguez, the victim was last seen alive on Monday (Nov. 1) at a basketball court around 6 p.m. He asked permission from his friends to go home around 7 p.m.
“The victim was probably killed in the area,” Dolinguez told Panay News, citing the bloodstains spotted there.
“We have yet to know what the motive was,” she added.
Panay News sources said two months ago, the victim was involved in a squabble with another teenager, but it was reportedly settled.
This was the second killing in this province in more than a week.
On Oct. 26, 36-year-old businesswoman Claire Diergos was found dead inside an abandoned Montero Sport in Barangay Inangayan, Santa Barbara with slash and stab wounds.
Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director, Police Colonel Gilbert Goreros, assured Ilonggos that the province remained safe and the two incidents were “isolated”.
“We are trying to solve these cases. Wala sang dapat kabalak-an,” Gorero said./PN
