KALIBO, Aklan – Sixteen candidates are vying for the Kalibo Ati-Atihan Festival King title.
The Kalibo Ati-Atihan Festival King, formerly the Lakan it Kalibo Ati-Atihan, is one of the side events of the annual Ati-Atihan Festival, which is scheduled on Jan. 12 to 21 next year.
The male pageant candidates are Paolo Benedict Ibuyan, John Rafael Villar, Ronald No, Jasper Sy, Marc-Philip Niemeyer, Charles Ed Manuel Laserna, Alvin de los Santos, Stewart Kenneth Magbanwa, Odelon Bartolo I, Marc Sebastian Hauer, Erol Pestano, Jann Vincent Regalado, Frank Jared Rafailes, John Karl Solano, Earl Jaztin Beboso, and Arnaldo Tandez, Jr.
According to pageant organizer Albert Menez, chairman of the Kalibo Santo Niño Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc., the candidates will have their preliminaries on Dec. 16 in the world-famous Boracay Island for the swimwear competition and on Dec. 22 at Pastrana Park in this capital town for the talent competition.
On Dec. 9, the candidates will also join a fashion show featuring the works of local top designers from Aklan and Iloilo at the covered court in Pastrana Park.
The coronation night will be on Jan. 15 at Magsaysay Park, Menez said. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
