BACOLOD City – Crossing the road turned fatal for a woman in Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
The 81-year-old Magdalina Villagues died of body injuries, a police report showed.
Villagues – a resident of the village – was crossing the road when a car driven by 65-year-old Rolando Alvarez Rosales hit her, the report added.
The incident happened around 6:10 a.m. on Jan. 25.
Villagues was rushed to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City but she was later declared dead.
The suspect was arrested and now detained ion the custodial facility of the Silay City police station, facing charges./PN
