BACOLOD City – A woman was arrested in an antidrug buy-bust operation of the police in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2.
About 5 p.m. on Oct. 6, the 38-year-old Roma Amor Treyes of Talisay City, Negros Occidental was taken to the police station.
Fifteen elongated and five small sachets of shabu worth P20,000 were confiscated from Treyes.
According to the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group (CAIDSTOG), the shabu was likely intended for the MassKara Festival that opened last week and will end on the third week of this month.
The CAIDSTOG staged the sting operation at the house of Treyes’ live-in partner Raul Jimena. But the cops failed to arrest Jimena.
According to CAIDSTOG’s Senior Inspector Ramel Bustamante, Treyes faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
President Rodrigo Duterte officially opened the MassKara Festival on Oct. 2 at the Bacolod public plaza. He said his war against illegal drugs will continue./PN
