ILOILO City – A collector of a money-lending company claimed she lost P300 thousand to two robbers in Barangay Poblacion, Ajuy, Iloilo.
According to 53-year-old Ofelia Delicana of Barangay Pantalan Nabaye, Ajuy and employee of CB Marketing, two armed men on a motorcycle robbed her around 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 14.
However, Chief Inspector Charlie Sustento, Ajuy police chief, was skeptical.
Delicana reported the robbery some eight hours after it supposedly happened, said Sustento.
He also noted conflicting statements from Delicana.
Delicana told the police the men took her to the town of Sara and left her there. They took her bag that contained the money, she said.
But Sustento said at one point Delicana told the police, too, that the men left her in Barangay Central, Ajuy.
“She claimed to have been robbed in broad daylight. Weren’t there people who saw what happened?” wondered Sustento./PN
