AKLAN – A 49-year-old mother died while her husband and child were injured after they figured in a road accident in Barangay Puis, New Washington town here over the weekend.
Police said the victim identified as Cheriline Sulat, a resident of Barangay Linabuan Norte, Kalibo, sustained severe head and body injuries. She was declared dead on arrival at a hospital by the attending physician.
Her husband, Joey Sulat, 40, and their 18-year-old child, also sustained injuries in the different parts of their bodies. They were recuperating at the hospital.
According to Police Lieutenant Jerwin Eulalio, deputy chief of the New Washington Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Sulat family members were riding a motorcycle driven by Joey on Saturday, October 25, when their vehicle accidentally overshot the curved portion of the road and collided with the oncoming motorcycle driven by Joseric Reyes of Barangay Mabilo, Kalibo.
Police said the victims were not wearing helmets.
Reyes, meanwhile, was also brought to the hospital after suffering minor injuries.
