ILOILO — The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) scored another big one with the confiscation of more than P577,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Balantian, Balasan town, on Sunday morning, October 26.
At around 9:20 a.m., police arrested alias “Richard”, 35, a resident of the said place, after he sold one plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P10,000.
The buy-bust operation against the suspect tagged as a high-value target was carried out by the Balasan Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company (IPMFC).
Authorities seized a total of five plastic sachets of the said illegal substance weighing approximately 84.9 grams and with a standard drug price of P577,320.
Also recovered were buy-bust money and non-drug-related items.
The suspect is now under the custody of Balasan MPS. He will be charged for violations of Section 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). These offenses carry a penalty of life imprisonment to death and a fine ranging from P500,000 to P10,000,000./PN
