ILOILO – Police operatives arrested Western Visayas’ third most wanted person during an operation in Barangay Tacbuyan, Estancia, Iloilo on Monday afternoon, Oct. 5.
The suspect, identified by his alias “Ating,” 22, single, and a resident of the said village, was nabbed around 1:04 p.m. by elements of the Estancia Municipal Police Station (MPS).
The operation was conducted by a tracker team led by Police Lieutenant Adrian Baligod, officer-in-charge of Estancia MPS, by virtue of an arrest warrant for two counts of statutory rape, with no bail recommended.
Police Regional Office 6 and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office noted that the arrest reflects their continuous and intensified campaign to track down high-value fugitives and maintain peace and order across the province.
The accused is currently detained at the Estancia MPS for proper documentation prior to being turned over to the issuing court for proper disposition./PN
