CAPIZ – In a major win for local law enforcement, the Dumalag Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) Tracker Team and the 2nd Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, successfully apprehended one of Western Visayas’ most wanted criminals.
The operation took place at around 6:33 p.m. on October 7, in Barangay Poblacion, Dumalag, Capiz.
The suspect, known by the alias “Jake,” is ranked as the fourth most wanted at the regional level, third at the provincial level, and second at the municipal level on the official Most Wanted Persons list. He was arrested under a warrant for qualified rape as defined in Article 266-A, Paragraph 1(D) of the Revised Penal Code, amended by Republic Act No. 11648. The offense carries no option for bail, reflecting the severity of the alleged crime.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Police Colonel Albert D. Tapulao, CPPO director, who commended the collaborative efforts of all units involved.
“This is a testament to our unwavering commitment to law enforcement and public safety. We will not tolerate individuals who threaten our community,” Tapulao said during a brief press briefing.
After his arrest, the suspect was processed at the Dumalag MPS before being scheduled for transfer to the appropriate court of jurisdiction for further proceedings.
The successful operation highlights the CPPO’s ongoing campaign against wanted individuals and reinforces public confidence in local law enforcement.
Tapulao urged the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that may aid in the apprehension of other wanted persons. The Dumalag MPS likewise encouraged residents to continue cooperating with authorities as they work to maintain peace and order in the municipality./PN
