YOUTH & TOURISM DEV’T: Uswag Ilonggo pours P478.75M worth of projects for Guimaras

GUIMARAS – In a boost to provincial tourism and youth development, Uswag Ilonggo Party-list’s Rep. James “Jojo” Ang, along with Guimaras’ Gov. JC Rahman Nava and Lone District’s Rep. Dr. Lucille Nava, spearheaded the groundbreaking and unveiling of the P400-million Guimaras Arena and Convention Center and P78.750-million five school buildings in every municipality of the province on Friday, August 30.

The Guimaras arena is at 7,902 square meters while the convention center is at 6,690 square meters and can house 5,000 seats with its grand ball room, small ballrooms and exhibit area.

The said project set to be completed in 2027 has an initial budget of P130 million from the offices of Cong. Ang, Cong. Nava and Gov. Nava.

Meanwhile, the five two-storey four-classroom buildings are in Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava National High School, Sabang Central School, East Valencia National High School, Jordan National High School, and Nueva Valencia National High School.

“Guimaras itself is a gem already for tourism so we will ensure to have this facility completed para sa turismo sang probinsya. More than the place, we also support the people especially the youth, that is why we made sure nga may yara kita dugang nga classrooms para sa mga kabataan para masabat ang problema naton sa edukasyon especially classroom shortage. We want quality for our youth and tourists,” said Cong. Ang.

He added the growing population of Guimaras also calls for the growing need to enhance facilities.

Gov. Nava also expressed his thanks to the office of the Uswag Ilonggo Partylist stating that “Uswag Ilonggo never fails to support the Guimarasnons in various projects and programs.”

Schools Division Superintendent Novelyn Vilchez represented the Department of Education and Regional Director Sanny Boy Oropel represented the Department of Public Works and Highways on both events./PN
