ILOILO City –Two drug suspects have been shot and killed using the same .45 pistol, the head of the regional Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) said.
Chief Inspector Hilarion Roga yesterday disclosed the result of the ballistic test the regional crime laboratory performed while investigating the deaths of Michael Guardapies and Jaylord Paclibar.
Guardapies, 30, and Paclibar, 23 — both residents of Barangay Lanit, Jaro district — were attacked on the same day but in separate locations.
Guardapies was shot in Barangay Tagbak, Jaro, around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 21.
After 30 minutes, Paclibar was shot by a motorcycle-driving gunman in Barangay Napnud, Leganes, Iloilo.
Since the fired cartridges found at the two crime scenes were of the same caliber, the crime lab was allowed to perform a “cross-matching examination,” Roga said.
They discovered the bullets were fired from the same pistol.
“There is a possibility that their attackers were the same person,” Roga said in a radio interview.
The SOCO head it is now up to the investigators to identify the suspects.
Guardapies and Paclibar allegedly failed to pay their shabu supplier.
In a previous interview,Senior Inspector Gerry Leones, Leganes police chief, said the two victims “were together dealing illegal drugs in Jaro.”
They reportedly got around P200,000 worth of shabu from a drug dealer in the city.
Paclibar was linked to several robbery incidents in Iloilo city and province, too, said Leones./PN
