BACOLOD City – One person died while two others were injured after a motorcycle collided with a van in Barangay Villamonte.
Motorycle driver Rolien Clyde Alunan died of head injuries, while his two back riders, Jessie Rey Montebon and Darwin Alcalde were hurt, a police report showed.
According to police investigators, the victims – all residents of Barangay Granada – were navigating the road when a van driven by 50-year-old Roche Epistola hit them around 10:30 p.m. on May 15.
It was, however, not immediately clear what circumstance led to the crash.
The victims were brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here where the attending physician declared Alunan “dead on arrival.”
Epistola, meanwhile, was detained in the custodial facility of Police Station 4, facing charges./PN
