BACOLOD City – In just one day of operation across Negros Occidental, various police units were able to arrest 15 individuals engaged in illegal cockfighting.
In Bago City’s Barangay Busay, 10 persons were arrested around 10 a.m. on Nov. 28.
On the same day, policemen of Himamaylan City apprehended four suspects in Barangay Talaban around 3:45 p.m.
Later that afternoon, a man was nabbed in Sipalay City’s Barangay Cayhagan.
Recovered from the suspects were game fowls, different gaffs and bet money.
They were all detained and charged with violation of Presidential Decree 449, or the Cockfighting Law of 1974./PN
