ILOILO City – Two men got themselves shot as they grappled for a shotgun in Barangay Pasayan, Batad, Iloilo.
Archie Baclas and Condrado Evangelio – both 32 years old – were taken to the Jesus M. Colmenares Memorial District Hospital in Balasan town for treatment.
A drunken Evangelio goaded a sari-sari store owner into giving him a bottle of beer but the latter refused, police said, citing investigation.
It turned out Evangelio was armed with a 12-gauge shotgun.
Baclas pacified Evangelio and tried to retrieve the firearm but the latter would not give it. They grappled for the gun until shots were fired.
Baclas was shot on the right leg while Evangelio was hit on the left hand, a police report stated.
The incident happened at around 5:30 p.m. on March 4./PN
