ILOILO City – Wilson Rojo of Barangay Mansaya, Lapuz district was not expecting that he would end up with a swollen face while buying a cigarette.

The 53-year-old complained to the police that another resident of the village punched him three times.

He arrested Ramy Billondres, 46, and turned him over to the La Paz police station at around 10 p.m. on March 3.

Rojo was buying a cigarette when Billondres – believed drunk – arrived and attacked him, a police report showed.

As a result, Rojo sustained swelling on his left eye and face. He was referred to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro.

Billondres was detained at the La Paz police station custodial facility.

It was not immediately clear what triggered him to attack Rojo.

Barangay Kagawad Erico Hortillosa and Tanod Commander Rocky Hermosora helped arrest Billondres, stated the police report./PN
