ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) accounted for 21 fugitives during a series of intensified manhunt operations across Western Visayas over a 24-hour period.
Records from PRO-6 showed that from the morning of September 3 to the morning of September 4, police units conducted tracker operations that led to the arrest of two most wanted persons at the provincial and municipal levels, alongside 19 individuals facing lesser criminal offenses.
PRO-6 director Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño lauded the operating units for their relentless campaign to serve standing arrest warrants against fugitives in the region.
“These accomplishments were the result of the team efforts of our city and provincial directors down to the police chiefs through intelligence gathering and close coordination with the community,” Tuaño said.
The region’s top cop also challenged police chiefs with no recorded arrests to step up their efforts, review their records, and pursue fugitives within their jurisdictions.
“Ang pagkaka-aresto sa 21 wanted persons sa loob lamang ng 24 oras ay nagpapakita ng ating tuloy-tuloy at koordinadong pagtugis sa mga taong may pananagutan sa batas. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang intelligence-driven manhunt operations upang maiharap sila sa hukuman at matiyak na naipatutupad ang hustisya,” Tuaño emphasized.
He further underscored the role of public assistance in maintaining regional peace and security.
“Mahalaga ang suporta ng ating mga komunidad. Hinihikayat natin ang publiko na patuloy na magbigay ng impormasyon hinggil sa kinaroroonan ng mga wanted persons. Ang bawat impormasyong ibinabahagi ay malaking tulong sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at seguridad sa ating mga komunidad,” he added./PN
