BACOLOD City – A total of 215 newly-hired and promoted  employees of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMRRH) took their oath of office recently.

Of the 215 oath-takers, 130 were newly-hired while 85 were promoted employees.

The hiring of new employees was in compliance to the standard staffing requirement of a 1,000-bed capacity hospital.

Earlier, Bacolod City’s Cong. Greg Gasataya disclosed that the Department of Health (DOH) was committed to implement Republic Act (RA) No. 11441 increasing the bed capacity of CLMMRH from 400 to 1,000.

Gasataya ,who authored House Bill No. 8835 to increase the bed capacity of CLMRRH to 1,000, said with the bill now a law, there would be better facilities and more equipment; more beds; more doctors and nurses; more medicines; and additional hospital funding.

The solon filed the bill after learning that the regional hospital, which has a bed capacity of 400, accommodates more or less 750 admissions every day.

“That is almost double its capacity. There is a need to improve the facilities and personnel of the lone tertiary government hospital in the province,” Gasataya said.

The bill was signed into law by then President Rodrigo Duterte in August 2019./PN
