BACOLOD City – All seven lawmakers in Negros Occidental voted for Leyte 1st District congressman Ferdinand Martin Romualdez as Speaker of the House Representatives during their inaugural session yesterday.
Negros Occidental 6th District congresswoman Mercedes Alvarez revealed that she, 3rd District congressman Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, 4th District congresswoman Juliet Marie Ferrer, and Bacolod City lone district congressman Greg Gasataya voted for Romualdez.
Negros Occidental 2nd District congressman Alfredo “Thirdy” Marañon III along with Negros Occidental 1st District congressman Gerardo Valmayor Jr. also voted for Romualdez.
Fifth District congressman Emilio “Dino” Yulo III also casted his vote for Romualdez virtually as he tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday and was prohibited from attending the session physically at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City./PN
