JORDAN, Guimaras – Twenty-six drug surrenderers at the Balay Silangan Reformation Facility in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras passed their drug tests conducted at the Nueva Valencia auditorium on Jan. 27.
The test was organized by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The surrenderers submitted urine samples for testing. All of them “tested negative for the presence of dangerous drugs.”
The drug test aimed to make sure that the surrenderers were indeed no longer using illegal drugs.
The Balay Silangan Reformation Program is part of PDEA’s “harm reduction” effort. Drug surrenderers are offered a chance to have a better life and become self-sufficient law-abiding citizens.
PDEA vowed to continually work with local government units “to safeguard citizens from the devastating effects of dangerous drugs.”/PN
