
CULASI, Antique – The inmate who escaped from the prison facility of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) here on Tuesday was caught.
Robert Domingo, 26, had a pending rape case at the Regional Trial Court, Branch 13 here.
How did the escape happen?
Late night of Jan. 25, Domingo complained of stomach pain and was brought to the jail infirmary. After taking medicine, he was advised by the jail nurse to rest at the jail chapel.
At around 2:30 a.m. of Jan. 26, jail guards found out that Domingo was gone.
A joint manhunt operation by the BJMP Regional Special Tactics and Response (STAR), BJMP Outside Support Group (OSG) and Culasi police station was launched.
Domingo was tracked and arrested in the mountainous barangay of Bagacay here around 4 a.m. on Jan. 27.
Police Captain Bryan Alamo of the Culasi police station cited their Barangay Intelligence Network for the fast capture of Domingo.
Domingo was returned to jail. He faces more charges for escaping./PN
