
ILOILO City – A total of 2,677 police personnel assigned of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) were promoted to the next higher rank yesterday, February 6.

PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky administered the simultaneous oath-taking, donning, and pinning of ranks at PRO-6 Grandstand in Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado, Fort San Pedro here.
Of the number, 2,562 are assigned at PRO-6 and 115 from support units in the region.
The promoted personnel included the following:
* Police Captain – 19
* Police Lieutenant – 33
* Police Executive Master Sergeant – 49
* Police Chief Master Sergeant – 192
* Police Senior Master Sergeant – 99
* Police Master Sergeant – 370
* Police Staff Sergeant – 1,040
* Police Corporal – 157
* Patrolman/woman – 718
Wanky emphasized to the promoted personnel that with their new ranks, added responsibilities will also come in, new positions or even change of assignments.
“Promotion speaks of our potentials to take greater responsibilities and do more for the PNP and the people we are committed to serve with. By virtue of your promotion to the next higher rank, many of you will be reassigned to new units or be designated to new positions. You must have known these consequences prior to your application for promotion, and you dared to face them. Truly, I admire you for being bold and courageous,” Wanky said.
The region’s police chief also recognized and extended his sincerest appreciation to the collective efforts of the promotion board and everyone behind the success of the promotion process, and the unwavering support of the families and loved ones of the newly promoted police officers./PN
