ILOILO City – Three most wanted persons (MWPs) were arrested in separate manhunt operations across Iloilo on July 29 as part of the intensified campaign of the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas (PRO-6) against wanted persons.
In Calinog, operatives of the Calinog Municipal Police Station arrested alias “Pio,” the Top 10 Provincial Most Wanted Person in Iloilo, at about 9 a.m. in Barangay Ipil.
The suspect was wanted for homicide under a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo, with a recommended bail of P120,000.
Meanwhile, at around 6:15 a.m., personnel of the New Lucena Municipal Police Station arrested alias “Pope,” the municipality’s Top 1 Most Wanted Person, who is facing charges of homicide and less serious physical injuries.
Police said the warrant for the homicide case was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 23 in Iloilo City on Sept. 18, 2024, with a recommended bail of P120,000, while the warrant for less serious physical injuries was issued by the 9th Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Zarraga, Iloilo, with bail set at P20,000.
In a separate operation, members of the 602nd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB-6), in coordination with the Cabatuan Municipal Police Station and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, arrested alias “Garry,” the Top 10 Municipal Most Wanted Person, in Barangay Poblacion, Cabatuan, at around 11:33 a.m.
The suspect was wanted for attempted murder under a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo, with a recommended bail of P120,000.
Police Brig. Gen. Randulf T. Tuaño, regional director of PRO-6, commended the operating units for the successful implementation of the manhunt operations.
PRO-6 also urged the public to continue supporting the campaign against criminality by providing timely and reliable information that could help authorities locate and arrest wanted persons.
Police said the successful operations underscore the region’s continuing campaign to bring fugitives before the courts and strengthen public safety across Western Visayas./PN
