BACOLOD City – The Provincial Legal Office (PLO) of Negros Occidental issued show cause orders to five personnel from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).
Atty. Alberto Nellas Jr. said the personnel included a division head and three engineers.
The show cause order was related to an alleged drinking session during an official travel on July 15.
Nellas said a formal complaint for alleged misuse of government property and grave misconduct was filed by a driver working for the provincial government and who serviced the five employees.
The official travel was at the Victorias City Hall on July 15.
According to Nellas, the driver waited for the employees until 8 p.m. when the Victorias City Hall was closed for the night.
It was discovered later that the employees were inside a restaurant.
Nellas said the five were told to submit their replies within five days.
“We will be getting their side,” Nellas said.
He also requested that the names of the involved employees be withheld as an investigation to the incident is still ongoing./PN
