BACOLOD City – Six loose firearms were turned over to the police in Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
Gary Perez of Barangay Suba surrendered two homemade guns, a .99m revolver and a defective .22 magnum revolver around 5 p.m. on Nov. 17, police said.
On Nov. 15, Barangay Bantayanon village chief Allan Silador also turned over to the police his .45-caliber pistol with serial number M12114109 loaded with five bullets for safekeeping while he was on the process of renewing its license.
A day before that, three firearms from barangays Minapasuk, Cambayobo and Marcelo were also turned over to the Calatrava police station.
Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, Calatrava police chief, said they placed a box at the police station for anyone who wants to surrender their loose guns.
Batusbatusan said this is a part of the Philippine National Police’s Oplan Katok/Sita./PN
