ILOILO – Eleven one-storey two-classroom school buildings were turned over to seven towns in the 2nd District.
The towns were Pavia, Santa Barbara, San Miguel, Alimodian, and Leon.
The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCI) donated the school buildings. The recipient schools were:
* Balabag Elementary School in Pavia
* Talanghauan Elementary School and Tugas Elementary School in Santa Barbara
* San Miguel Central Elementary School and San Antonio Elementary School in San Miguel
* Cuyad Elementary School in Alimodian
* Agboy Elementary School and Buga Elementary School in Leon
* Calaboa Elementary School and Cagamutan Elementary School in Leganes, and
* Sigangao Elementary School in Zarraga.
FFCCCI shelled out P400,000 for each school building. Respective local government units and Cong. Arcadio Gorriceta of the 2nd District allocated counterpart funds.
Gorriceta hailed the Filipino-Chinese businessmen for their generosity./PN
