BACOLOD City – Two residents of Negros Occidental committed suicide by hanging.
Depression allegedly drove Ronilo Castillo, 39, of Hacienda San Benito, Barangay Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla to kill himself.
Castillo tied a rope around his neck and hanged himself in their house. His body was found 5 a.m. on Sunday, said Senior Inspector Allan Reloj, municipal police chief.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
In Silay City, a resident of Sitio Bara, Barangay Mambulac also killed himself by tying a telephone wire around their neck.
Superintendent Willy Diel, city police head, refused to identify the victim. All he said was the victim was 39 years old and the hanging happened around 2 p.m. on April 15.
Police have yet to determine what drove the victim to commit suicide.
The victim was taken to the Teresita Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital where they were declared dead./PN
