ILOILO City – In Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao district, a 36-year-old man was arrested.
Michael Alejaga of Iznart Street, City Proper has been charged with violation of Batas Pambansa 22, or the Bouncing Checks Law, a police report showed.
Officers served him a warrant of arrest at around 9:30 p.m. on Monday.
The law penalizes the making or drawing and issuance of a check without sufficient funds or credit.
Alejaga was also charged with violation of Republic Act 8282, the law strengthening the Social Security System and amending the Social Security Law.
Judge Danilo Galvez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 24 issued the warrant of arrest against the suspect for this case.
For this charge the court set the bail bond for the suspect’s temporary liberty at P24,000, the police report stated.
Alejaga was detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 1./PN
