ILOILO City – A 44-year-old resident of Barangay Santiago, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo was found dead.
Police said John Balayo committed suicide by hanging. His lifeless body was discovered on July 7.
Balayo was last seen alive on July 4. He asked permission from his brother Kester to go to their rice field. He has not come home since, investigation showed.
From what the police have gathered so far, Balayo was suffering from nervous breakdown and has missed taking his maintenance medication for a week.
Kester found the body hanging from an Indian mango tree around 2 kilometers away from their house at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday./PN
