IT WAS the time of the year “The Gathering of Idiots” and this annual event happened on Monday, July 22. A motley crew of the usual suspects: irrelevant and obsolete communists, the so-called “leftists”, pseudo-communists, opportunistic politicians and the main ingredient, the “hakot crowd” whose numbers, of course, will be determined by the size of the budget.
The “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon”, trendy social climbers and the “woke millennials” were naturally expected to be part of the annual “Gathering of Idiots” but as of this writing that has yet to be confirmed. The presence or absence of this group is dependent and can be confirmed with the proximity of the nearest Starbucks.
The nearer Starbucks is to the venue of the “Gathering of Idiots” – preferably within a few meters or walking distance but not too far as it might cause wear and tear to their expensive trainers – then for sure a considerable number of this group will join the event.
Try to understand that this particular group is Frappuccino-infused and without Starbucks to infuse them, their participation on Monday’s annual gathering of idiots was limited to just expressing themselves on Tweeter and Facebook.
Besides, this annual “Gathering of Idiots” is traditionally attended by the hoi polloi rubbing elbows with the great unwashed is just not sosyal enough for the Frappuccino-infused trendy social climbers and the “woke millennials”.
And what is the impetus for all this nonsense?

Duterte arrives at Batasan for 4th SONA
PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte arrived on Monday afternoon at the House of Representatives in Quezon City for his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Duterte arrived onboard the presidential chopper at 4:55 p.m.
The Chief Executive was received by Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of-Staff General Benjamin Madrigal Jr., Senate sergeant-at-arms Rene Samonte, and House sergeant-at-arms Rolando Detabali.
Senate President Vicente Sotto 3rd and Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano welcomed Duterte at the end of the military honor guard’s formation.
The President proceeded to the Legislator’s Lounge and will proceed to the plenary hall to deliver his fourth SONA scheduled at 4 p.m.
Former presidents Fidel Ramos, Joseph Estrada, and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo graced the annual event. Then president Benigno Aquino 3rd skipped his successor’s fourth SONA.
Vice President Leonor “Leni” Robredo, the second highest official in the land, was also present to witness the President’s fourth SONA, despite her differing political stance with the current administration.
Yup, it’s the time of the year when all the usual suspects gather together to try to make more noise to drown out the President of the Republic of the Philippines as he makes his State of the Nation Address.
Ironic, isn’t it? We’re supposed to be a democratic country and yet that rabble of irrelevant social-climbing idiots only wants their shrill voices to be heard and not the President of the Philippines.
Perhaps the heavens saw through their hypocrisy and rained on them, sending them scampering for shelter and thinning out their already sparse group.
If not for the “hakot crowd” who, of course, braved the rains and other inconvenience for profit (not for advocacy) there would be nobody left except for the “professionals” i.e. Renato Reyes, Teddy Casiño, Satur Ocampo, and Sarah Elago.
These people have been screaming “Ibagsak ang rehimen US — (name of current president)” since Marcos’ time, except for the time of Cory and her nincompoop son Nonoy Aquino.
Really, these people are not only obsolete and boring but with absolutely no creativity they have been shouting the same stupid slogans for several decades.
Meanwhile, in “I Am Iloilo City” the Ilonggo version of the usual boring, irrelevant and obsolete so-called leftists tried their very best to gather people for a “massive” rally against President Rodrigo Duterte’s SONA.
They ended up with a sparse “hakot” of old women and some street urchins and created traffic along the entire length of General Luna Street and managed to irritate and inconvenienced commuters, students and motorists who regularly use that busy thoroughfare./PN
