ILOILO – Express yourself this Valentine’s Day. Let the color of your clothes speak of your current relationship status, provincial government employees were told.
To inject fun today at the capitol, Acting Provincial Administrator Dennis Ventilacion suggested the following outfit color codes:
* red – in a relationship / in love / happily married
* pink – single and ready to mingle
* green – it’s complicated
* gray – flirting
* blue – sinaktan, iniwan, pinaasa
* orange – patuloy na umaasa
* violet – love wins in LGBT
* yellow – moving on
* brown – friends lang
* black – bitter
* white – importante buhi
“The wearing of uniform is suspended. Instead, officials and employees are encouraged to wear the colors assigned according to their respective relationship status,” according to Ventilacion.
He, however, reminded employees to continue observing the health protocols in the work place – wearing of facemask, physical distancing and disinfection of hands.
The provincial government has around 2,000 employees.
For his part, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. encouraged Ilonggos to mark Valentine’s Day by having their children vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Pediatric vaccination for those between five to 11 years old starts today.
“Pabakunahan nyo ang inyo mga kabataan. You know why? Because we are preparing nga magbalik ang klasi…face-to-face,” he said.
He also encouraged other age groups yet to be vaccinated to take the jab.
“Amo man sa magpamilya, magpabakuna sa Valentine’s Day. Let’s love and protect our family,” said Defensor.
As of Feb. 2, 1,017,221 persons (70 percent of the 1,448,757 target population) were deemed fully vaccinated already./PN
