ILOILO City – Police operatives seized approximately P1,904,000 worth of suspected shabu from two siblings in a buy-bust operation on Thursday, February 26, in Zone 1, Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district.
The suspects, identified by their aliases “Aj,” a 20-year-old construction worker, and “Batwan,” a 21-year-old passenger assistant officer, are both residents of Mandurriao, a report from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) showed.
Joint operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office’s (ICPO) City Drug Enforcement Unit and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (RPSB) Team Bakhaw, and the Iloilo City Police Station 10 – Station Drug Enforcement Team recovered from the suspects a total of 12 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and two knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing 280 grams of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and non-drug-related items.
The arrest followed weeks of intense surveillance triggered by community tips and backed by the RPSB Bakhaw.
The suspects were detained, facing charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
